“Iter is the journey of becoming — guided by truth, refined by time, and lived with integrity.”
-Valentina Guolo
THE STORY
I didn’t create Iter as a concept. I created it from conviction.
When I was twenty-five, I moved to the United States from Italy to build a future for my family. We arrived with very little — only a passion for wine, food, and the belief that hard work and integrity could create opportunity. That experience shaped my understanding of growth — not as something handed to you, but something earned through intention and persistence.
From the beginning, my goal was not simply to build a company, but to create a place where people could find a true sense of belonging and the opportunity to grow alongside it.
Iter is the Latin word for journey. The spiral is an ancient symbol that represents the journey of life, the winding path of our growth. We constantly move forward, yet we often revisit the same themes from a fresh and enlightened perspective. I carry a tattoo of this symbol on my wrist as a constant reminder to never stop growing.
I have learned that truth is rarely convenient. Growth is rarely linear. And integrity is something we choose again and again — especially when it would be easier not to.
The spiral guides the cellar as much as it guides my own path. I revisit. I reassess. I refine. And I question the status quo.
As a brand, Iter reflects the belief that authenticity should never be compromised — not in how we live, and not in how we make wine. The philosophy is simple but demanding: continue forward with integrity, even when the journey is challenging.
That philosophy lives in the wine.
Iter wines are true to varietal and honest in expression. Rooted in California terroir and shaped by evolution, rather than convention, each wine follows its own path. If a wine carries depth, it is because the vineyard gave it depth. If it needs time, it is given time.
At its core, Iter is about alignment — between who we are and what we create. Between intention and outcome. Between growth and integrity.
Iter does not exist to perform.
Iter exists to stand in truth.
And for those walking their own imperfect, evolving journey — choosing integrity again and again — that is more than enough.
